Viva Flambeau! This Saturday, make plans to attend the 2019 Fiesta Flambeau Parade, the largest illuminated night parade in America! The parade will celebrate with “Reflections of Music Past” as its theme. Join in on the fun when the parade rolls on April 27th at 7:00 p.m.
The Fiesta Flambeau Parade continues to light up the streets of downtown San Antonio along its 2.6-mile route and is viewed by an estimated 750,000+ spectators and another 1.5 million via television broadcasting. Leading the parade for its 71st year is The University of Texas Longhorn Band, followed by spectacular themed floats, marching units, a variety of local and national bands, dance groups, equestrian units and many other attractions that create a memorable night of illuminated entertainment.
The Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association, Inc.’s mission is to plan, organize, produce and stage the Fiesta Flambeau Parade annually during Fiesta San Antonio. It does so to enhance the celebration for the San Antonio community and its visitors. It is a nonprofit, volunteer organization with 81 members and more than 300 volunteers.
Fiesta San Antonio started in 1891 as a one-parade event to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. That historic commemoration still takes place, but for more than a century, Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio’s rich and diverse cultures. Fiesta has evolved into one of this nation’s premier festivals with an economic impact of more than $340 million for the Alamo City. Funds raised by official Fiesta events provide services to San Antonio citizens throughout the year.
Purchase advance tickets now for this unforgettable event! Prices range from $15 to $35 and include seating that ranges from bleachers to grandstands. For more information about the parade, visit the event website at www.fiestaflambeauparade.org or the Fiesta San Antonio website at www.fiestasanantonio.org.
